I got asked today about what to have on board a wagon for a campaign. I think this is really worthwhile to think about. We will never be uniform in what we think are absolute necessities, but from doing a number of campaigns, some of them a long way from civilization (and help) I'd like to start the ball rolling with my idea of a minimum list. Please the rest of you feel free to add other ideas or take some away if you see fit.

My minimum requirements would be:
Ax
Spade
Logging chain
Spare clevis (or more than one)
Bucket (big enough for an animal to drink out of)
Grease bucket
Wheel shoes
Rope
Wheel wrench

Halters
Lead ropes
Picket stakes
Feed box
Spare keys for yokes
Harness rivets
Leather sewing kit

Hoof pick
Spare horse shoes already fitted (I carry epoxy instead)
Horseshoe nails to fit your animals
Pine tar
Insect repellent wipe or spray (for animals)
Antibiotic ointment
Penetrating antibiotic spray
Corn oil (horses or mules)
Liniment
Veterinary surgical tape
Gauze
Curry comb
Mane comb

Suggestions:
Salt blocks
Spare lead ropes
Pick or mattock
Saw
Hammer
Wrench
Pliers
Jack
